Anyone remember the LA Times/USC Dornsife 2016 daily polling?

They picked up the Trump support before anyone else. New York Times, ABC, NBC, CNN and others tried to paint them as inconsequential and flawed. "Hillary was going to win in a historic landslide". Remember? Here's a slide to remind everyone.

Well... let's flash forward to today:

Poll questions are pointing to a Trump victory

quote:

Two new questions added to the USC Dornsife Daybreak Poll this year, reported separately from the main results, predict that the national popular vote for president could be much closer than most polls are predicting. They also suggest Trump will once again win the election in the Electoral College.

Its an interesting strategy, Instead of asking who are you voting for, they ask who you think your social circle is favoring.

It may prove to be more exact in 2020. I think there are massive amounts of people that do not want to admit they favor Trump.

Isn't this something Trafalgar did in 2016, ask about people you know because it was believed that would catch the shy Trump vote? Since, I may worry about expressing my own support if Trump but it doesn't harm me any to say someone else is voting. With that said, it's interesting that USC is just now saying this with a week until the election. Are they trying to hedge?

Last election cycle, they didn't have a pay wall. Now they do. I haven't been paying attention because this year they are very "fly under the radar" where in 2016 they were in TD posts almost every day.

LA Times poll also changed their methodology this year so the ~+6 Biden polls that they're showing aren't as comparable as the ones from 2016.

It's way more than +6 when you use the intention to vote. They have consistently showed Biden +10-12. The social contacts voting shows Biden +4 and how others in your state are voting shows Biden +0.7 though. LINK /

Honestly don't know why they would change. They nailed it last time.

Oh, right. They nailed it last time and caught shite and got ridiculed by every other Pollster and the MSM for months leading up to the election. I guess a little political pressure and "poof" out goes the methodology and truth.
