While we are at it, can we toss a few DHS officers in jail for aiding and abetting? Anyone handing out bus/plane tickets to illegals can join them.

What state laws are we discussing here? FedGov sets immigration laws.

And what are they going to do with them? Hand them over to DHS so they can put them on busses and drop them off in every city in the US?

this ^^^^^^

its just talk and no real action, not for lack of desire, just that he cant really do anything about it if the feds just turn them loose

Why can't we just shoot whoever tries to come in illegally? I mean it's like an invasion.

With all the money Texas has they should've built their own wall years ago.

Okay, that's a misdemeanor. The state can't hold someone for a misdemeanor violation unless there was criminal intent or intent to cause bodily hard, then other charges come into play. I'm not saying I don't want Texas to do what it can, but what laws can they reasonably use to force someone back to Mexico?

From what I have read so far that Abbott's plan is to arrest those that crossed without going through a border checkpoint and going through the asylum process.

If you get caught transporting them you go to jail and lose your vehicle. Only law enforcement can transport illegals throughout the country.

Transporting illegals (private) and those that didn't go through the checkpoint process are breaking Texas state laws is how I read it.
