I'm of the opinion that we're way too early for real fireworks. Not in January. I think Walz and Frey completely puss out and start urging people to back down in the streets. If that happens, the temperature will start to fall on tensions in MN.
If we were seeing Minneapolis-level chaos & unrest in a dozen major cities, then I think it would be almost time for the popcorn. (That said, this Monday is National Popcorn Day, so what do I know? Let's see what happens.)
I've always been of the opinion that it's going to take a major incident to kick it all off. A SCOTUS ruling at the end of June against the deliberate misinterpretation of the 14th Amendment that strikes down the citizenship of children born in the US to illegal aliens ought to do it.
Ditto for blowing up the racist intent behind the gerrymandering process via the Voting Rights Act. Thinking out loud - THAT would get the Wakandans out into the skreet. Stripping the citizenship from anchor babies wouldn't be enough to engage "the community".

Yeah, I mean the whole, "specific timing left to POTUS" thing, and all. But do you know what that tells me? That he isn't pulling the trigger until he feels ready to do so. As soon as fricking possible, would be nice. Not when he feels like it.
