You are GD right about this. It's one of the most ridiculous aspects of our society that gangbangers get shot up, brought to the hospital to experience some of the highest quality care in the world, and then produce offspring that do the same exact thing. The costs of this kind of thing are insane. Of course, that cost is hardly ever borne by the patient, who has no insurance but receives every intervention possible to ensure the best possible outcome.
At some hospitals, rival gangs have raided the ERs and trauma bays so often that Armed guards hover around the entrances and they have metal detectors on multiple floors of the hospital. The patients will sometimes check out at 4am AMA with a handful of pills to get out undetected. It's absurd.
