Notable defenses are given nicknames...

...like the Blackshirts at Nebraska, or our own Chinese Bandits at LSU.
It shocks me that Clemson's defense has no nickname. None at all. And that's just not right.
So in the spirit of the holiday season, I'm going to give them one...
...that's right! Clemson's stalwart defense shall henceforth be known as The Matadors, after their sterling efforts...
...now Clemson's fans won't feel so left out! Whenever their lovable losers take the field, they can salute their efforts with...
"Ole!"

I think 'Purple Curtain' was once used to describe the defense.
