Yes both looked almost identical tonight

Considering 1 is a 5th year senior and the other has a just weeks in the system though it says something

Mett came in against a completely depleted NW State defense. They were hammered in the first half. Then 3 or 4 out of 8 completions came off of bubble screens.

People buying into Mett after that game is silly.

look. When I go to a game I'm a freak, watch every play with the binoculars. Saw Brockers INT tonight, it was a INCREDIBLE catch. Don't know if a replay caught it or not. Besides the point but I sat row 6 section 401, corner where visitor comes out

I watch every play with the binoculars, great view in those seats. Jarrett Lee is the starter. I think he should continue to start. But watching both players, Mettenberger has more ability. By far. Not close.

As I said, JL should remain starter for THIS team. And I am as excited as hell about this year's team, but the future at QB, even if for ONE year, is eye-popping.

it was Northwestern, whenever he came in it was against a "depleted" defense. He also started after tbe 1st half when NW had a long break and plenty of time to rest.

and lee didnt have the same advantage and throw a few WR screen/bubble passes himself?

no more than people disregarding 3 years of Lee to buy into this 1 game of Lee

I dont view the statement "mett is a better QB than Lee" as negative.

just factual

I didn't say anything of Lee. Just the fact that Mett came in and played well against NW State doesn't "say something."

when comparing the 2 against the same team, and both had basically the same offensive players surrounding them it does say something

In college football I will expect the older guy to play better and if he the play is roughly the same I will expect the younger guy with less expereience to have more talent and upside than the 5th year starter

disagree if you will but saying 1 LSU QB is better than another is certainly not negative
