Where's does egg sinker go on sliding cork?

Up against hook or right above leader portion. I assume above the leader. And should the cork be weighted or non-weighted.

Above the leader if It's an egg sinker. You can tie a shortish leader if need be. I miss fishing sliding corks in black bay in the summer.
*They are also good to use for fishing triple tail as well. If they are holding low on a buoy chain or crab pot then you can adjust the depth easily.

What do you think about weighted vs non weighted cork. I can't see it making a difference.

Always used non-weighted cork. The weight to throw the rig is the egg sinker. If you are using small crimp on weights then that might be a different story. We always used 1/4-1/2 oz egg sinkers IIRC. Maybe could step up the weight depending on depth of water and structure on bottom

Thanks baw. Gonna try to throw this at some rigs in the next few days. Haven't used one much before.

Perfect for it. Good luck.

It depends on who you ask. I use those versa max corks and the line on them is 30# braid that ends with an egg sinker and two plastic balls (for extra noise) connected to a 45# swivel.
Below that I can obviously put anything, but right now it's 15# fluro with a 4/0 circle. That leader length is about 16 inches.
Sometimes I do the captain charlie style where I let that work like a Carolina rig under a cork. Others I let it sit about a foot above the bottom and let the shrimp/minnow do the work.
I do this exact same setup for my Carolina rigs now too.
