Go MH to H, dont screw with a M rod. I would go with a 6.6 or 7. (fast or medium fast tip) U want to put the action in a worm not your rod and it is one of the hardest hook sets in the damn world to me. I dont know how many worms I have pulled out of a bass mouths but too damn many, and lost the biggest bass I have ever hooked on damn worm throws. Allstar, falcon, Loomis, Shimino are very good but my favorites are St Croix.

Just go to Academy Bass Pro or Dicks and handle a few and pick one you like. just make sure it is a MH or better

tino, what type and pound line do you plan on using and for texas rigged worms?

10-12 flouro

you should be fine with MH. mono I would go Heavy, as we you to say stiff as boom handle for the mono. We used to take turns in the pool holding a hook and letting the other set the hook. you would be surprised how little bit of pressure you generate.
