When I lived in Memphis and it was late at night, I used to lay on my couch and watch tv with my pistol on the coffee table. Basically every apartment around me had been broken into at some point in a 6 month span, some more than once and it was always happening around midnight on the weekends when people would be out partying.
I heard someone at my back sliding glass door at about midnight, trying to frick with the lock...I froze for about 2 seconds, grabbed my pistol and shined the laser through the blinds. I never had any trouble again.

At least you got a call. They came, didn't print or anything, just wrote shite down. 5 pistols, cameras, jewelry, etc. never to be scene again. It was a nice "welcome" to the neighborhood.

I heard automatic weapon fire outside of my apartment one day and called the police. Told them where I lived, gave them my number, etc. They didn't even bother to send anyone.
