Wasp Identification: Paper Wasp or wood wasp?

I have been chopping pecan all week and these showed up a couple days ago. The hind legs are throwing me off because I don't see any images on line with legs that extend that far back. They have hit me a few times, but I haven't been stung yet

Not a wasp. Looks to be beetle. Maybe a borer of some sort

It's a wasp beetle, their coloration mimics a wasp to keep predators away, Ron Cheramie steered me in right direction. It definitely has wings, they fly away. I would have been stung by now if they were wasps.
