It is a shame if the fish are gone.

I came back to visit my father from California in the summer of 1990s. Bought him a Xpress boat from Cary’s Sporting Goods for his birthday. One of the best times I had with my father.

We camped out and spent 3 days up there catching scaliat and some nice bass. My best bass out of Chicot was 9 lbs in 1990’s around Blue Springs area. My father caught numbers of pretty bass that were small on the North Flats on a lizard.

Now it was not an easy place to fish, they had a lot of gators, and wasp nest. They did have fish that hung tight on the cypress trees. The roots were like an umbrella and fish were under it.
