We bought my Dad a Crossman initially, then upgraded him to a Gammo. He had somewhere between 700-800 (as he always qualified) confirmed kills. While it slowed their destruction, it didn’t completely eradicate them.

This was before Gustav wiped out most of the huge water oaks in his neighborhood, so there aren’t as many now. Can confirm the other post about how wary they got to that sliding glass patio door opening. He was using his post hole digger and burying them in his garden at first, but was shooting them faster than they were decomposing. All this while he was in his late 70’s.
