I have a SLX DC, Curado DC, and Scorpion DC. Would never buy another non DC reel. They out perform better literally anything lews or daiwa makes and cast as well as shimanos metanium mgl and anteres mgl. It's incredible how good those reels are

I have no need or use for the DC function.

Have you ever used a DC reel? Or are you just hating on something you have never used. Believe it or not, I can throw a non DC reel very well. It doesn't change the fact that DC reels cast further, backlash less, allow a wider selection of baits, allow you to cast directly in the wind giving an overall more enjoyable experience than a non dc reel.

It's absolutely this. I don't need to throw finesse baits with a bait caster. I have spinning rods that are perfect for that use.

I have 3 DC reels, all of which can cast weightless soft plastics straight into the wind as far as my spinning reels, with almost no chance of backlashing. Why use a spinning reel when you prefer baitcasters? I can throw so much faster without having to ever open a bail.
