We will see how long he sticks around. According to the camera he’s been coming by every day.

That’s how it goes with me every year. Those bastards eat all my feed and then get killed miles away from my stand lol

There was a study done by MSU that they released some data from on YouTube about the movement of some bucks that they collared. It’s like a 6 part series that might last 30 min in total. I’ll post the link in a second

This is part 1 MSU Deer Lab Buck movement study On Youtube

I have different experiences with bucks. Sept.-Oct. I have seen deer move 1-2 miles away. We will lose some and gain some. The vast majority do stay on the property and in the general area, though. I have only seen 1 actually move back during hunting season, and that was because he was wounded. A guy shot him with a bow and hit high and he survived.

The only thing I can think is they move back into the swamps in the fall until rut.

I usually see 50% of the bucks that were on camera in late august back on camera in december.

I'm in VA. I am currently getting pictures of the same bucks,3-4 miles apart, within a day or two. There's three that make a loop you could set your watch to.
