The Louisiana Traveler, who was the originator of it? Was it Fred Parnell?

I remember Mr. Parnell having some for sale for around 5k back in the '70s.
Are they still making them somewhere?

FFL in Arkansas across the street from Sea ark made the boat. I called for a coast guard tag after I sprayed a liner over mine. The owner of FFL boats said Fred took the boat and had a guy beef up the transom to up the HP.
A lot of people have them sitting on carports not being used.
My first was the 15ft nicknamed the battleship model with a 50 hp Mercury. The trailer I had was a sportsman galv trailer where you could pull the hitch pin and launch the trailer into the water from the side of the road.
Second one was a smaller 15ft with 25 hp tiller for duck hunting.
My cousin bought a 1995 17ft boat with a 75hp Mercury. He still uses his boat.
They stopped selling the boats in 1995 when Gulfway Marine bought them out.

Those pics bring back some good memories. Early ‘70s-81. Man the shite we did in that boat.

It was a great spillway or marsh boat for the money.
My cousin bought the one off the showroom where Fred Parnell had a livewell built in it and it was carpeted. He still runs that boat and will not sell it.
Another guy in my neighborhood has a 1995 17ft, roll on liner, and 70hp Evinrude. He has been on the fence about selling it. Last time I talked with him he said he would take $1,500 and it runs. I got some pictures of his when I looked at buying it.
He claims it does between 32 to 35 mph.

15ft was very popular and perfect bait for spillway along with Cajun specials.
I bought a lot of them back during BP oil spill from people not using them and fixed them up to resale to people wanting a cheap boat for the spillway.
