Alright guys, finally got this area cleared and limed and it’s ready for something. Right at about 1 acre, located around Poplarville. Is it worth planting something now? Would like to get something going to minimize weeds but not sure what I can plant at this time that would be beneficial.

Planning on putting down clover in the fall, when would be the best time for that?

You’re a little late but could put down Alyceclover and vetch and get a little bit established. On a single acre I wouldn’t have much hope for peas. Realistically if I was in your shoes I would just keep it sprayed with clethodim til the fall to eliminate as much invasive grass as possible.

If it's bottom ground that has pretty good soil and holds moisture well, then spread one bag (50#) of American Joint Vetch. Don't cover it the rain will plant it.

If it's a red clay hill top or a sandy ridge, then don't bother. Especially this late.
