Thanks Alx. I appreciate the tip. I am assuming I can pick that up at Academy?

This is one of the things I was going to try. I'll have to do it the hard way as well. I dont have a depth finder on my boat or my kayak

I cant catch a bass there now to save my life. White perch galore though. Uncles camp is there and the dock almost reaches the creek so the perches love it. Grew up going there regularly. Many good times had.

It can be done. And the reward is greater.

Academy will have a little george. His pic is a bass pro knock off that works great.

Last year, I found a bunch of Kentuckies on a hump up the bluff from there. In the creek, several guides had obvious brush. I watched some families hoisting Perch Blanc.

Academy has stuff similar to what Langston posted. The model with the line running through the body is better than the Little George. The one I posted is a BPS product and you can only get it at Pineville Marine. Worth the trip in my opinion.

There is a hump just out the gap that will give you a mess quickly. They also school through the pocket following the creek. It has one advantage. It is very very will protected when the rest of the lake is getting hammered by the wind.

My worst tourney ever was spent entirely in there. I know of two teams who parked their boats and built fires.

Ok. Thanks. I will try to go there one day this week after work.

OP, if you have schoolers close to your dock, I dare say you have white perch close now too. They will be feeding on the same thing, but hanging close to deep cover right now. If your gonna be there a few days, Ive "heard" of hanging a potato sack full of dog food under the dock and catchin perch a couple days later

We actually already do this and catch catfish that way. There is a deep channel that runs through our cove that is right off the dock (could see this real well when the water was down 13') which I believe is part of the old sabine river. There are a lot of fish that travel that channel.

We usually run traps off the dock. Catch a lot of catfish but unfortunately we catch a lot of turtles as well.

I've catchin some on Watermelon Red Speed Craws during the day over there, Texas Rigged. Caught a 6-7 and my best friend caught a 7-6 on consecutive weekends over there earlier in the month.

Right now, though, you would probably catch more and better fish at night unless you can find some schoolers during the day. Good luck

I might as well use this as opportunity to brag so here you go:
6-7
7-6

Probably a feeder creek. The Sabine channel is going to be like 60' or so in that area.

Last summer I night fished several times right off the main river and caught a lot of nice fish! Would just throw out into where the river was and drag a bruh hog up the "bank." Caught fish from 30' to 3'

Probably. It certainly isn't 60' deep . I see a lot of people out in front of the dock following this channel fishing for white perch
