Gerber gator hasn't let me down,,deer ducks rabbits elk squirrels hogs it will do it all at a decent price nice belt sheath and not heavy sharpens easy and holds an edge.. Buck knife with a gut hook for ripping hide

More and more I find myself turning to one of these two knives. Both stay in my truck permanently. Nether is very expensive, but both carry and edge well and are just right for my deer skinning purposes. In addition, both are also small enough to handle skinning a squirrel. I have a Havalon as well, but it's not as useful for me as it's not capable of opening the chest cavity.
