Speaking of moths...
Buck moth is the moth from stinging caterpillars. In late 70s- 80s they were a sign of deep fall, early winter around louisiana. So named bc arrival was near deer season.
I’ve not seen one in many years. I’ve not seen stinging caterpillars in years. Must be climate change.......I’m sure of it.....;(

Used to crawl down water oak in backyard en masse. Come to think of it, I don’t think my daughter ever got stung by one. It has been a while since I’ve seen one too.

I never saw the moths but in Ascension I saw balls of stinging caterpillars in oak trees as a kid 30+ years ago.

I haven’t seen balls like that in AP since then.
