On a hunt looking for does Thursday evening. Had a couple enter the field just before dark. Got ready and knew I wouldn’t have much time. Lined up and rushed the shot. Bang! Scared the hell out of me. Normally I shoot out of the tall side windows. All I could do is shake my head and laugh at myself.

I was in a redneck blind yesterday afternoon and spent some time practice drawing and checking my clearance to avoid doing exactly this.
Glad you were able to just laugh it off. That makes for a great camp story.

This happened to me. I was sitting in a giant box stand and a doe came out on the opposite side of the stand. She was only about 30 yards away and I didnt want to spook her by moving to the other side of the box. I picked up and I could see her clear as day in my scope through the window. I didn’t take into account the angle the scope was pointed in relation to the barrel. I took the shot and immediately had wood splints fly all over inside the stand. Then I realized the bullet had clipped the top of the window. Next day a guy sent out a group text wanting to know who the hell shot the stand. I never told a soul
