Sig 229 Legion / 357sig quickie review

I finally got my P229 legion in
I put about 300 rounds through it today. It is slick as owl shite and seems pretty accurate. I was shooting at a 4" steel plate at 25 yards and I was getting hits about half of my shots which is good enough for me on day one. The hits were getting more frequent and faster towards the end.
Is it worth the price? Hard to say. All I had to compare it to is an M9, and the 229 blows it out the water. The trigger, sights, controls, general ergonomics are all siginifcantly better on the sig. With the price difference it should be. Id have to shoot it next to a normal 229 to know if its really worth the premium or not. The sights are the best ive ever seen, supposedly they are sig-branded trijicon HDs. If you dont have them on your gun, get them.
As for the caliber, I like it. The claims that it nearly duplicates the .357 magnum seem like a stretch. It has a good bit less recoil and muzzle blast than full bore 1450fps magnums. It does feel a good bit more powerful than 9mm +p.
On a side note I had a new uplupa (spelling?) clip loader with me and that thing is incredible. Its bad for the ammo budget, I could load 3 clips in the time it used to take me to load one. If you shoot any, you should get one.

Nah. I have a 357 mag blackhawk that I use for doe patrol. Its going to be my carry piece (or more accuratly carry chunk).

Congrats!
Plan on getting a 40 s&w barrel for it?
I believe that is all you need to switch calibers.

My first "real" pistol was a Sig P220. Hell, DS, I could have told you that.
My P229 (.40) is a good shooter, probably not quite as good as my P245, but when I added night sights to the P245, I must have left the front sight a little off center. I need to push it a little more - but I can basically shoot the P245 with my eyes closed - the P229 I have to concentrate a little.
A lot of cops love the accuracy of the Beretta 92 and/or the G17 - but I've never shot them as well as I shoot Classic Sigs.
