Short stop, circuit breaker on boat electrical system

My boat has a short stop auto reset circuit breaker which I think is bad and causing some problems with my electronics not working. I bypassed it and they work, so my only logical conclusion. It has a plastic body, but can't find them locally, but did find a metal replacement at Auto Zone. Anyone see a reason the metal one won't do the job? Pictures below. I maybe only see corrosion as being a problem with the metal one. Thanks

Every boat shop around sells them. I just purchased the one pictured from front to back in Baton Rouge. I wouldn't get metal.

I had a breaker like the one shown in your post. It was installed by the dealer for use with my 36 volt Minn Kota. Mine used to trip quite often and I had similar issues after replacing it. I have read several posts and articles and if your trolling motor is 36 volts I would suggest getting the proper breaker directly from Minn Kota. This is what I did and have not had any problems since.
