This goes in the ground, on your main line to prevent sewer backflow into your house thru the toilets, etc.

I had a situation the other day when pumping out my pool, when the city sewer lines were full from rain. Because the lines were full, there was no where for the pool water to go, so it backed up a little inside the house.

The pool drain system goes to the city sewer line. YES it is to code.

Anybody have one ?

There are many types. I want one that is "serviceable" with surface access. My line is down 2 feet, so access is not to bad.

Yes I will have a plumbing Co install it.

INB4 fill in your frickin pool....

A pool should never drain into city sewer. Doesn't matter if its not against video, thats just a bad idea

I had a check valve installed in my sewer line when I built my house .. The county is known for sewer problems during a hurricane. Several of my neighbors have had sewer back up into their house. Make sure to put a clean out on both sides if you run the sewer snake through the check valve the wrong way it will hang up..

I have since decided to put in a septic system. The last 3 storms we had power and no sewer for 2 weeks. We pay way too much in water and sewer to not have sewer.

A backwater valve isn't serviceable, its a swinging check valve. It either works or it doesn't. My pool dumps to a floor drain that is not connected to sanitary sewer, it is piped to the storm drain on the road in our front yard
