SELA fishing from the bank

Are there any good places to pull over and fish from the bank? I've heard of people doing it along hwy 1 but was seeing there were any others around the NOLA areas. I'm new to the area and looking to do some fishing once it warms up but I don't have a boat. Thanks!

There are a few fishing piers on the north shore of Pontchartrain in Mandeville.
