Why are you using a rail? Is it not drilled & tapped for a direct scope mount?

I'll take a rail over direct mount rings every time. Something with the gun is off and think it may be the scope? With a pic rail it's as easy as taking a scope off of another gun or out o the safe and bolting on to check zero. Direct mount rings are more of a PITA than a rail.

Yeah, not opposed to direct mount, but way less options.

Pulled the trigger on the Nightforce NX8 4-32x50 Mil-XT today. Tax free and free shipping on Eurooptic. that's on top of buying 3,000 primers and some powder because there was a free hazmat on a different site. I'm going broke, haha.

Ended up getting a 20 MOA rail from Talley and have some low Vortex rings and medium Seekins rings coming tomorrow to see what works best. Hoping to get it all mounted by Sunday. My ACE muzzle break is coming in this weekend too, so can hopefully put some rounds downrange this week!
