Have never seen anything like it. Two separate times today. Just 2-3 waves at a time but huge and cresting as I approached. It was weird as hell. Luckily, I pressed to one side away from the creating section.

No noticeable boat traffic in in the middle north of the Texas Scott dyke.

I've seen them all the way to East Bay.. i believe its ships throwing a wave. The wave gets bigger in the shallow water.

Ship wakes. Have almost been swamped fishing a spoil island years ago while
Anchored. Luckily saw some guys a few hundred yards away frantically pulling their anchor and we weeee able to get ours up in time and back away a bit. Have also had it happen while wading skyline at the foot of the dyke. Have heard many horror stories about guys having boats destroyed while trying to load the boat or launch boats at the dyke when a big ship wake hits.

Those big containerships are the ones you gotta keep an eye out for. They throw serious wake even on a half bell. It's just how they are designed
