Re-waterproofing boat cover - Thompsons?

Gonna wash and try to get a few more years out of the Carver boat cover. I know what the mfr recommends and that most suggest using 303 spray. My question is can I use Thompsons Waterproofer on it? Thinking a couple light coats with ample time to dry between. I have a couple gallons left over from a project. Anyone had experience with this?

I bought a bottle of the Star Brite waterproofing solution. I haven't used it yet though.
*It should say what material it's suitable for. If it's the regular wood water proofer you may want to look into something more compatible with fabrics.
