Sillosock sled

I love to hunt snows. But i'm hardly successful and specs are way easier. I get frustrated and have 'quit hunting forever' many a time

A good goose call is all about the position of your hand.

I have gotten to where it's meh and I don't eat them, so not really a fan anymore. I used to guide goose parties and it's really hard to be very good at it unless you are an outfitter that can stay on birds with lots of property. Sometimes you get lucky and birds will hang around your lease for a while but Snows bounce around so much that it is hard for the typical lease guy to really stay on them and the cost to justify a big Silo spread for maybe 2 decent hunts a year just isn't there. The upside is that Speck decoy at will to white spreads and will save a hunt if the Snows don't play, especially early in the season. Then it's Canadas.

If the field is currently being used to crawfish, I can almost guarantee you will not kill a single goose.
I agree but man they like to go in those at night. I've had friends who've had crawfish rice stuble leveled from them going in at night.

Yep. We always hear specs leave our ponds in the am. Geese will land in ponds, just hard to hunt them IMO

Cause it's a roost. Geese always roost in water because they can hear critters sneaking up on them.

Riceland > Chen Caille.

It isn't even close. Like not remotely in the same general vicinity.

Well, I haven't hunted in many years but back in my day, the Chien Caille was tops. Maybe if I get back into it (hopefully soon) I'll give the new stuff a try....I killed a shitload of specks with my trusty old calls.
