Question about LA fishing licenses

I know all fishing licenses expire on June 30(Stupid, should be 1 year from purchase). So does that mean if I buy one say the first week of June I only get 4 weeks out of it? Thanks

Not positive but think you'll be able to purchase one for the upcoming year.

Licenses purchased after May 31 are good through the following June 30.
