I shite you not....put vodka in a spray bottle and spray it on the rash. It soothes the itching.

I don't understand how this works, but there is something to it. As a pipefitter, I had to work with and around welders a lot. Sometimes we pipefitters, millwrights, etc. would sustain flash burns to our eyes from sudden and unexpected welding arcs. A common remedy to these eye burns was to take a slice of potato and lay it on our eyes. Believe it or not, that slice of potato would begin to darken and turn black, depending on the severity of the flash burn. Vodka is made from potatoes, so there must be something of a medicinal value in potatoes?

Over night it spread to my eye, swelled it shut.

Got the shot and some cream this morning. Now just a lot of pain and hope.

I would recommend a Doctor visit.

Taking a warm bath loaded with Epsom salt really helps. Then use Caladryl lotion. Do it a few times a day and it will work pretty quickly.

Good luck.

A lot of people I have talked to said avoid hot water.. Basically it opens up your pores and spreads the oil.

I'm sorry, I hate the stuff. I feel your pain and sympathize, but I have to ask the question I know is on everyone's mind:

How the hell did you get it SO badly? Did you roll around in the stuff?

Do not stop the prednisone too early (prior to 14 days or so) or it can bite you in the arse later.

dont do the bleach, you will end up with chemical burns. Oh yea be prepared for some scarring.

On what basis do you say this? Because I've done this twice without a hint of a chemical burn much less scarring. And sure, I tried it on a small part of my body before coating most of myself with bleach. And I'm not really sure it's what cured the Poison Ivy. But from my experience your statement is simply not even remotely true.
