Oklahoma Turkey Hunting

I leave today for Oklahoma. The plan was to public land hunt in the western part of the state.

Has anyone hunted the eastern part of the state? Any recomendations on where to try?

What's going on out that way that they are evacuating? Fires?

ETA: I just looked it up. The Black Kettle should be ok because the prevailing winds will be West - Northwest but I'd still be cautious

Yea Black Kettle is the plan right now. I need to make some calls to make sure of it. I'm just trying to make a backup plan in case I can't make it out there.

Don't discount door knocking. It's awkward but some farmers may not have an issue

Black Kettle should be fine to get to. The Rhea fires are way east of Leedey now and the Reydon Fire has been out for several days.

Black Kettle is waaaay better. Access to Black Kettle shouldn't be affected by the wild fires.
