Todays country is terrible. The old stuff is the best stuff, geroge jones, haggard, hank, cash.. Alan jackson and George strait are old school also, can listen to either all day. And the most current singer i can listen to is brad paisley, he has some very good music which he writes himself and is a hell of a guitarist.

some of paisley's stuff is good, but it was mostly earlier in his career.

blake shelton is one i'd love to curb stomp, especially after he butchered one of my favorite chris knight tunes

You can appreciate brad if you ever see him live, one of the most talented individuals in country today, his guitar skills are amazing, he changes guitars every single song. And he writes his own lyrics to every song which is more special.

yes blake shelton-hate, toby keith-hate more, trace adkins- hate even more, jason aldean-most hate i can give

He's one of the few today that I can listen to and enjoy damn near anything he puts out.

again, his early stuff is okay. i like aldean for the most part, but i don't buy a word of the shite he sings. no way that motherfricker has ever been on a gd tractor underneath an amarillo sky.

I could say the same for allan jackson, saw him live also. The performance isn't no big light and firework jumping around show. Its him coming out and sitting on a bar stool with his guitar and singing the best music you will ever hear. If you hear him live and then listen to his album, you cant tell any difference. His producers must love working with his voice, he sounds exactly the same live as he does on the album.

ps...also heard george jones live 2 years ago, his voice is not as strong as it was back in the day, but it was an honor to listen to him in person. He has THE most distinct voice in country music that can't be copied by anyone

I missed him last time he came to the River Center. I have seen Merle a couple of times though. Still badass.

Jamey Johnson's shows are badass if you like country music. The first time he played in BR, at the Tx Club, he played all the songs off Lonesome Song and said, "alright, the part of the show you paid for is over. Now I'm gonna play whatever the hell I feel like until you all leave." He played old George Jones, Vern Gosdin, Waylon, Merle, etc for another 3 hours.

The Texas Club ran out of cold beer. They were selling hot beer straight off the flats.

Want to see him, love all of his stuff. His first album was the best to me though.
