Needing to level my yard and fill several low areas before laying some new sod. Question is is it Ok to use river silt as the fill or should I use top soil?

I don't think the type of dirt underneath would be a really big deal...but unfortunately, I think river sand has a hell of a lot of weed seeds in it.

I would personally go with the cheaper river sand and work the resulting weeds down with herbicide applications.

Depending on how thick the spot will be I would use a mix of 3 parts topsoil, 2 parts sand.

Just got done topdressing mine after digging out half the leftover shite they left in the yard just under the sod when they built the house last year.

Fricks should have the landscaper send ME a check for having to fix his sorry azz work. How these people keep a job I'll never understand.
