I've been looking at these but haven't pulled the trigger on any yet. Trying to figure out what level of insulation, if any, I should order. Primarily want to use them as a "cold" weather boot for Louisiana white tail hunts in 30s+/- temps but do plan on an elk hunt within the next few years (if I have to order separate boots for that, so be it, but an "all-purpose" purchase would be preferred). My 20 year old Timberlands are great most of the season, but I'm too old to mess with cold feet when temps drop. Any input on whether to go with no insulation or 200g? Assume the 600g is overkill and will lead to sweating in likely hunting temps for me.

If you're looking at pac boots for cold weather you should also look at Hoffman Boots out of Idaho. I have a pair of Outbacks that are comfortable to walk in but still keep my feet warm sitting in a stand in the coldest weather. And although they will probably last a lifetime they are rebuildable.
