My yard is a little over an acre that is mainly bermuda. I have two steep spots that I usually cut going downhill. Going uphill is sketchy. My last mower was a riding Husqavarna from Lowe's that I bought 9 years ago for our last house. I knew it went blow up and yesterday it finally did.

My dilemma is that I'm not sure if a zero turn is my best option. I'm worried about the hills and the cut quality of a ZTR.

If I don't go ZTR route, what's the best riding lawn tractor that best for bermuda and hills?

I have 4 accounts which have ditches or hills that are close to 45 degree inclines ,as long as they aren't rain soaked i don't have any probs cutting them with my ZTR.

So my advise is to get another ZTR,and with the size of your yard i would not buy one that is under a 52 in cut.

i have a 50 inch toro for 1.14 acres with a small pond and a slew of trees. i have a few ditches i can cut if it's not super wet. handles the incline just fine.

A zero turn should be fine if a tractor style handled the hills. They'll have as wide of a footprint.

Buy one from a dealership and they'll help match the best one for you. Plus they'll support you after the sale.

I agree buy from a dealer with a good service dept. A dealer will always put his customers infront of homecenter customers. A good dealer will also show you options to fit your needs and budget. Yes, most carry the lower end items just like the homecenter which may fit your needs. Biggest thing is they will make sure the deck is level, unit running fine, and most throw in a bone like free delivery or better financing rates if you go that route.

I hate myself for buying a Husqvarna mower every time I mow.
