I have been in the color enriched mulch industry for years. I supply the colorant to the producers who make the mulch for the big boxes as well as the bulk marketplace. How long will the color last? This all depends on the colorant application rate. It's kind of like one coat or two of paint on your walls at home. Both will cover, but the extra application of 2nd coat will look better longer. All that being said, most bulk producers apply colorant at a higher rate than the producers of the packaged goods.

The color enriched mulch product will look better longer than any uncolored mulch or pine straw.
