Lower Pearl River catfish

It’s been so hot and the river is too high to catch many bass or white perch, was thinking about trying my luck with some catfish. Any recommendations on where to fish and what bait to use for this area? I’ve heard some people recommending market shrimp and stink bait. TIA

Try to catch some perch to use as live bait on circle hooks.
I fish the Mississippi River for cats and I find that is the best bait for catching cats, especially the larger ones and I've caught more flatheads on live perch than any other bait I've ever used.
Don't get me wrong, I've caught cats on market bait (fresh shrimp) and on earthworms I get from my compost pile, but they are generally smaller cats, but still good eating.
