Looking for Dove recipes

Looking for a dove recipe, specifically grilled dove breasts. I have heard of grilled dove breasts stuffed with jalepeno and wrapped with bacon, but should I add something else? Whole jalepeno or a slice? I heard cream cheese in jalepeno, but that just doesn't sound right to me. Any help would be appreciated. Oh, and I searched this place, but couldn't find what I was looking for, but you guys might like it, lots of recipes.

Can't mess up dove (or anything) with jalapeno and cream cheese wrapped in bacon.

When people do this with doves is it the whole dove or just the breasts?
Why not pluck the dove?

I always do Doves slow cooked in an onion gravy. Chop about 10 yellow onions, cook them down for hours until its carmelization heaven, season, add some broth, sear some dove breasts and pop them in.
Epic.

I would breast, marinate in italian dressing, prepare with the cream cheese, jalapeno, and bacon, and grill

I do pluck them, but I have a lot of them, more than I will cook in a gravy
Just looking for a different way to cook them

I love Italian dressing, this is a new ingredient to me. Thanks!

Breast them and do the italian dressing marinade.
I always use "zesty" italian do 2 parts dressing and one part lea & perins. If you like a little extra heat you can add your favorite hot sauce to it.
If you haven't had them with the cream cheese and jalepeno wrapped in bacon, just do it. You won't regret it. I do backstrap the same way sometimes. Duck done like this is the shite too.

I marinate for about 4 hours in the fridge. I like to add a dash of liquid crab boil just for a little different flavor. I have a cast iron griddle that I put on the grill and cook it on that

Interdasting. Sounds tasty

He could post this on the Food Board, but the recipes would probably include alfalfa sprouts or something

I would like to see a thread stickied here with nothing but wild game recipes.

I've done them in gravy, wrapped, and just plain on the grille. When I wrap them in bacon I marinade with italian and Worchesire (sp). After at least 4 hrs I use a block of cream cheese and the diced jalepons in a jar. Add some diced jalepenos and the juice and mix well. Add some of the spread and wrap in bacon. Also have used maple bacon and it was awesome.
Some times I skip wrapping them and just grille after marinade. Taste like steak

I agree! But I don't think it'll happen with the food board here

Thanks everybody for the suggestions

Italian dressing/worcestershire sauce marinade, jalepeno and cream cheese stuffed and wrapped with bacon is the way I will go!

I think there's an outdoor cookbook in the stickied thread at the top. There definitely used to be one.
I like doves like everything else: With onions and rice and gravy and beer.

The first dove recipe in the link I provided is for bacon wrapped maple dove

Look at the stickied thread at the top under the trophy category. There's a pretty massive cookbook in there made by OB posters.
