Leaking Carb Float Solution

So like I've seen here before I had a carb float leaking. Turns out the plastic backing flexed a little and wouldn't seat the needle all the way. I had to put this one back together so I made do with a spade lug I cut and slipped the flat metal in the plastic housing to reinforce the plastic. Thought I'd share in the event yall end up in a similar scenario. Seems like there should be a metal clip that would help the structural integrity. Perhaps some have them...
Bonus the small hole fit the tit on top of the needle.
Here are some pics.

Bending the float back the other way, and then reinforcing it solved the problem?
Good job catching the problem.
What type of engine?

Good job I guess bro.
What kinda motor? Do you trust that to get you anywhere?
The float kits are like 20 bucks for most motors.
Just curious.

Honda recon 250
We are going on a hunting trip this weekend and I needed it to load up for the kids and needed a second bike for this trip.
I'll order a replacement. There are different kits and some of them do have a metal tab there that goes over that middle part to reinforce it. I just never noticed before.
