Heading up to Lake Bruin tomorrow to a friend's place for the weekend and going to bring a few poles. I do not do much freshwater fishing so I am going to make a run to Academy this evening to get a few things.

Looking for recommendations on lures/baits.

That place makes me feel like the worst fisherman 1-2 times a year . I cannot seem to catch many fish there. I think I caught 6 bass in 2 days in March. I do have friends that catch though. Idk what they are catching on now, but in the spring speed worms and speed craw in junebug red was a hit for everyone but me.

I’ve only fished it twice and that was in February and March. Pb&j 1/2 oz jig with a purple rage craw was what I got the most hits on.

This time of year we catch them on shad color crank baits, casting from about 10’ off the end of piers back toward the bank. Usually catch some good ones too.
