My 1 year old yellow lab swam off and on all day yesterday. Late last night she was whimpering and tail limp. What's the best treatment. She seems uncomfortable:(

Rest, it'll be gone in a couple more days. Mine gets it mainly in cold water after swimming his arse off all day. Poor girl

ETA: also maybe an anti-inflammatory med if your vet can prescribe her one. Rest seems to be the biggest cure for mine

Anti inflammatory meds and rest is best
But just rest for a few day will also work

Mine gets it and doesn't seem to be bothered by it too much. my vet told me to give her about half a motrin or advil. it can cause digestive problems because the tail muscles are part of a dogs shitting mechanism and if it hurts to use them they'll go too long and get backed up. my lab gets it from wagging her tail, according to my vet....damn tail never stops unless she is on birds...looks like itd hurt but dogs deal with pain differently than we do....
