What's you land situation like? As in, if you chose to let him live (which I would do) what are the chances he'll stick around versus wandering off and getting shot?


He's a great deer now but would another year would be huge

We lease about 500+ acres. We have been shooting 8 pts or bigger for the past 5 yrs and I have actually seen a positive difference in the bucks the past 2 years. Most of the bucks on our property live in the thickets as usual but pretty much stay in that condensed area. Of course, during the rut they could run anywhere within miles. Our neighboring hunters seem to shoot anything they want but they aren't die hard like we are so they don't get in and out of the woods as much. As far as our own hunters, there are a handful that if they shot him that would be completely acceptable, hard to argue it really, but if I saw him I would try my best not to pull the trigger. He'll be a monster. But the chances of seeing him are slim to none. We get quite a few nice bucks on our camera but most of the time no one ever sees them.
