I'm sure there's paperwork saying you can't use it commercially
If you keep it under 300hr I don't think they would care. I could be wrong though. I never even signed any paperwork. They called and I said hell yes and it showed up the next day. I don't see why using it commercial would be any worse than what we are doing with it on the farm.

biggest expense would be the implements you need that doesn't come with it...

Case makes good stuff too, but it's just always a step behind
Their cotton pickers are a long way behind. But not in combines. Hell Case had to drag John Deere kicking and screaming into the Rotor technology.

Yea, I wasn't talking about somebody starting from scratch with nothing. It was more for people who had all the implements and already taking care of their food plots and what not but being able to upgrade their tractor for cheap.

High Cotton-I'm in West Alabama...but those Ellis Bros had some good varieties back in the day!

The Ellis's are good folks. They can tell some crazy stories about the corruption of trying to grow seed cotton in Brazil back in the day.

Not that familiar with JD tractors. No professional farmers here in these mountains. Most of the tractors around here are Ford, MF, and a few Case. Just a curiosity question, though: Didn't the JD tractors used to have or still have a different equipment hook up than Ford, MF, and Case? Something different than a 3 point hookup like Ford and MF? I still love to hear those old JD tractors run, though. Love to hear that pop, pop, pop. And that brings to mind one of my favorite Larry Sparks songs: LINK

Got me to thinkin and rememberin from way back... If anybody don't like the sweet sound of these old JD tractors, then their firewood is all wet. LINK

I think the 3 pt hitch is the same, but JD did have their own style of hydraulic quick connectors which might've been the same b/w ford, Massey, Case and IH, but not compatible with DEERE. I remember we'd have to use couplers on our disks, etc. to convert once we started renting a few CAseIH tractors I the early '90's, but I think beginning with Deere's 55 series, CaseIH and Deere got on the same page with the hose connections. Might've been the JD's 50 series but I know the 4840's were the old-style JD.

Do they have an option to add a front end loader? Where is your local dealer, I am very interested
I just called the Shreveport dealer and he said they are not doing it anymore there.

They did offer a front end loader but it added $100 month. My dealer is Trigreen and I am pretty sure they leased their allotment. Trigreen had over 100 units not sure about other dealers.

You got anymore details on this? My deere dealer didn't have any idea what I was talking about just that I was the 3rd person today that asked about it.
