Yep the doe stood there and looked around for a moment then decided to get out of dodge. The few deer I've killed with this gun were clear hits by their reactions.

I've about decided that I prefer this gun with subsonic ammo over my .30-06 when hunting in close range stands (60 yards max). I can maneuver the gun better and the blood trailing has been night and day better than my .30-06.

shot a 225# buck once with my buddy's 45-70 (gen 1 CVA with "Bergara" on the barrel). Solid shoulder hit; the deer looked like it got punched by Iron Mike circa 1986.
