It’s a crisp 42 this morning after being 70 yesterday morning.

Have seen 5 bucks and 2 does. Let two 3.5 year old 8s walk. Videod a 2.5 fighting a nice 4.5 9 point 20 yards from me. He would be dead if it was closer to the end of the week. I’ve said it every post but Illinois rut is unreal
When you’re on them. I’m hunting with 8 other people and none have been as lucky as I have with the action so far.

You may end up being right but I’ve had opportunities all 3 days I’ve been here at 4.5 year old solid bucks. Problem is I’ve seen 4 bucks bigger than any of them and had one at 40 yards that I never could get a shot on. I don’t leave until Friday so as things get closer to the end of the week I’ll let it fly.

I’ve seen 20+ deer every day and have seen 11 so far this morning. I just lucked up on a hot spot.

They are on different farms. We’re all within 10-30 minutes of each other but they can’t hunt this farm.

Had to run to town after the morning hunt and was going to back out by 2. He was here til 150 and left before I could even leave camp.
