so do ya'll shoot out of your canoe ? or do you just stand in the water ?

I'm usually shooting wood ducks on the edge of a tree line or deep in a swamp, so I'm always hunting out of my pirogue. If I do get out I'm standing on dry ground taking a piss. If I'm standing waist deep in water it means I fell out of my boat.

Pecan Island School Lodge is open for duck season- or whats left of it-
Louisiana Sportman just did a segment on the club, and they are taking reservations for rooms. The segment looked awesome. The number on the tv was 337-258-4868.

I haven't been to Big Branch since opening day of first split last season, but man were the teal flying! Sounded like WWIII (seemed like we picked a popular spot)

For any new hunters licenses are key. Make sure you know what you are getting, and the laws. If you intend to hunt managment be sure to get your WMA permit and HIP permit. LDFW gave my buddy a $50 ticket for not having a WMA permit(which is free)

As far as guns go, until you know you love it (which you will be hooked for life) I would go with either a remington 870 12 gauge, or maybe even a mossberg 535.

If you ever want to hunt in the Hammond area we hunt in Joyce WMA. Hit me up, and we will show you a good time!
