I changed the oil and now the 3 screws that you take off to put the new filer in leaks. Mainly out the bottom. Seems that the screw is stripped. I took a screw out the top one to see if it's the screw or the female threads. Seems like it's that latter which sucks. Anyway, to fox this on my own. Re-tap possible. But it seems to be fine threads.

You over tightened the bolts. Those bolts don’t call for much torque at all. Cheapest attempt would be to chase the threads with a tap. Can’t tell you the pitch off top, it’s metric and 6mm. Your o-ring may be damaged as well. If you chase a tap and get a new o-ring and it doesn’t resolve it, helicoil is next up. Part numbers below. Good luck.
O-ring 91301-107-000

Pretty much impossible as they are designed to fail if over torqued yhe heads should snap off before the threads fail.
Hell on both the pioneer 500s I got the bolts were at their sheer point from the factory

Friendly or GN probably has 40 of these in stock. Honda manual says 9ftlbs. The bolts FAIL at 8-10.
Do 7. No leaks in 30 years.
Well... From there at least

Not saying you’re wrong but under my watch, I’ve never broke one. Torqued to spec or not. Now, the diff drain and check level bolts are absolutely soft. Nonetheless, just trying to sight unseen diagnose and help the fella.

Chase/clean threads, take a few wraps of Teflon tape on bolt, tighten bolt, baw out.

Will the heat affect it? I may try this first before i buy the helicoil kit.

quote:nah, used it on hydraulic lines which gets pretty hot. The Teflon isn’t a seal more of a shim. As I recall the o-ring in the filter cover does the sealing.

Check to see if the filter is in backwards.
