Crawdaddy,
I can't help w/ OWB holster recs as I don't own any, but I'm very pleased w/ my 3 IWB holsters. I use a "Lone Wolf-T" from Woolfe Gunleather (LINK to carry an 1911 in 45 ACP. I carry a Kel-Tec PF9 in a "Southern Sidekick" from Ryan Grizzle Leather (LINK I don't carry my Springfield XD 40 S&W much anymore becuase I find the single stack magazine guns more comfortable to carry, but I have a "Wicked Axe" from Little Bear Leather (LINK for the Springfield. Although all 3 holsters are tuckable, I carry untucked about 3/4 of the time.

I can highly recommend all three holster makers. All were close to the build dates they quoted me when I placed my order. Their work is high quality. These are custom holsters so expect to wait months.

Cross Breed and Comp-Tac holsters are also very popular IWB holsters, but I prefer leather holsters over Kydex.

OTOH, to attach the holster to the belt, I prefer Kydex clips instead of leather loops. I think Kydex is more versatile and easier to replace.

There are a number of holster makers that make holsters that can be converted from IWB to OWB.

K&D is discontinuing this holser 2/20/11.

For whatever holster you end up w/, be sure you buy a quality belt designed for holster carry. Trying to carry a $500 gun in a $70 holster on a $20 belt from Wal-Mart will frustrate you! Most holster makers also produce holster belts.

Cross Breed Holsters. Super tuck delux. Horse hide. works great and is more comfortable than any I have used in the past. Steel clips wont break. adjustable. Easy to use.

Also look at a holster with a reinforced mouth, my milt sparks has a piece of metal that holds it open. I had a cheap brand name outside holster that I couldnt reholster my gun without two hands because the mouth of the holster would literally close when I took the gun out.
