My old man is wanting to plant some tomatoes this fall. What kind is best for the fall here in south Louisiana? Oh and when should he plant them?

I started a thread a month ago. You have til the middle of August in South Louisiana. I'm not sure what varieties will be available.

I've gotten caught last few years waiting to plant in mid to late August, then don't get anything in ground until late sept. i need a few days for garden to dry out so I can till.
