Depending on how much you do really matters. The battery ones are pretty damn sweet. I have one in my Milwaukee M18 setup and love it. One 5 ah battery does about 15 bushes at my house, which is all I have
ETA, unless you are cheap as hell stay away from electric unless you like patching cords

I have an Echo gas hedge trimmer, probably the most minimally maintained/forgotten about small-engine tool I have and it's never had a problem starting with fresh fuel. Given the advances in the cordless stuff I'd take a look at them but otherwise get an Echo gas one.

How do you like your other M18 tools? Specifically, do you have the trimmmer and blower? Home Depot has a great sale on them now, and the reviews look great.

Probably some of the only ones I don’t have. I think last count I was at 14 tools in the m18 line
I don’t really trim that much, much more in edging. So a battery op one will work great. Just waiting on my ryobi to die. The only reason I can see the blower is for my wife or the garage so we don’t smell like gas, but otherwise need a bigger blower.
